City plans for First Fridays Food Truck ‘festival’

GRAND BLANC — The City of Grand Blanc Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has announced a new community event in the First Fridays Food Truck Festival which will kickoff Friday, May 5th with a Cinco de Mayo theme.

El Ballet Folklorico Estudiantil dancers and mariachi band will provide entertainment for residents who will explore a variety of dining options available for purchase from travelling food trucks from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

This will be the first event in a series occurring each first Friday of the month for May through September in the parking lot of Grand Blanc High School, 12500 Holly Road. Cars will only be allowed to enter from Holly Rd. and there is no admission charge.

Each event will include entertainment, kid’s activities, food trucks and outdoor seating. Genisys Credit Union and the View Newspaper Group will co-sponsor the event at the presenting level and other sponsorship opportunities are available via www.cityofgrandblanc.com/Portals/1045/DDA/ FTSponsorship2017.pdf. The DDA hopes that the First Fridays Food Truck Festival will provide a fun atmosphere in which to foster a sense of community within the City of Grand Blanc. — P.S.
