On Tuesday, Goodrich traveled to Flushing and came away with a 49-39 victory. The Martians opened the game with an 11-2 edge in the first quarter and never looked back. Goodrich outscored the Raiders, 12-10, in the second quarter and, 17-16, in the third, before Flushing edged out Goodrich in the fourth, 11-9.

KeKe Sevillian led Goodrich with 17 points and six steals, while Frankie Joubran had 11 points and Taylor Gleason added 10 points and four assists. Emily Wendling led Flushing with 22 points and 18 rebounds.

Last Thursday, Goodrich hosted state-ranked Inkster and ran away with a 63-46 victory. The Martians led, 19-10, after one quarter and 30- 23 at the break.

The Lady Bobcats have played some exciting games this season, but not many like their contest at Howell on Friday. Kendra Freund drained two clutch free throws with a mere 25 seconds remaining in regulation, sealing the win for the Bobcats, 33-32. The end was the exact opposite of how the game started, as Howell opened things up with a 18-7 lead.

After that, ‘we fought back the rest of the game,’ according to coach Megan Noll. “I am extremely happy with the fight that the girls showed. They wanted to rebound from our loss on Tuesday and they wouldn’t take no for an answer. After the first quarter, the girls locked down defensively and were determined to be patient on offense. It was a great end to league play.”

The Bobcats finish the league schedule in third place in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association-West with a 7-3 record. Grand Blanc beat Walled Lake Western on Tuesday, 37- 36, to open the KLAA tournament. — B.P.
