GB Academy holds fourth annual career fair
     GRAND BLANC — Students at Grand Blanc Academy were presented with a variety of potential professions following the school’s annual Career Fair Feb. 7. Academy teacher Ashley Mengel and Guidance Counselor Ryan Moore teamed up three years ago to introduce the first school-wide career fair to the middle school and junior high students.

Community comes to aid of second-grader from Barhitte Elementary facing cancer
     BURTON — Just a few months ago Allie See was a normal second-grader at Barhitte Elementary. A swollen neck sent Allie to the hospital. A bone marrow test would confirm Allie had a form of cancer called Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

MCC graphics coordinator gets Fulbright Scholarship
     FLINT — Mara Jevera Fulmer, professor and program coordinator in Graphic Design at Mott Community College, has been selected for a Fulbright Specialists project in Russia at the Yekaterinburg Academy of Contemporary Art during May 2012, according to the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
