McLaren Health Plan & Ascension Health reach deal

GENESEE COUNTY — McLaren Health Plan (MHP) has announced the addition of 13 Ascension Health Hospitals to the MHP provider network.

Effective Aug. 1, McLaren Health Plan’s Commercial, Medicaid, and Self-Funded members had in-network access to Ascension Hospitals across many Michigan communities.

“McLaren Health Plan is thrilled to expand our provider network through our new partnership with Ascension Health,” said Kathy Kendal, president and CEO, McLaren Health Plan. “Our membership and presence throughout Michigan continues to grow and we see our partnership with Ascension as a vital part of providing our members with greater options of quality care throughout the state.”

The McLaren Health Plan and Ascension Health Systems agreement includes contracts with St. Mary’s of Michigan Hospital Network, St. John Providence Health System, and the Borgess Health Network. With the addition of these 13 Ascension Hospitals, McLaren Health Plan’s provider network has grown by over 30 percent in the last six months.
