BILLIE JEAN PIERSON passed away peacefully on June 25, 2010 with her family by her side. Billie was the matriarch whose steadfast love and support was the foundation of the close-knit family. She was born Aug. 27, 1929 to William and Pearlie Burrow in Flint where she spent her entire childhood.

Billie met George Pierson at the old Centre Theatre in Grand Blanc in 1947 while performing. They fell in love and shared a lifelong passion for

music. George and Billie were married on Sept. 6,

1947 at her parent’s house in Flint (known now as Burton). They had three children who Billie stayed home to raise in Goodrich while George made a living working for General Motors and playing music at night.

A few of Billie’s favorite things were visiting the Sault Ste. Marie, playing music, and dancing.

She is survived by husband of nearly 63 years, George; sons, Jim (Penny) Pierson, and Dwight "Dee" (Carol) Pierson; daughter, Darla (John) Harvey; brother, Darrell "Gabby" (Sylvia Jo) Burrow; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Chester.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Hill Funeral Home in Grand Blanc. Pastor Greg Rowan officiated with interment at Greenwood (Green Corners) Cemetery.
