Since then, Brahce and Pagacz have turned Le Rouge Salon into a booming business that’s much more than a place to get a cut and style. The salon offers not only first rate hair cuts, but also manicures, pedicures, massages and starting in July, they will offer med spa services such as Botox and Lattice.

“We are completely doing an entire facelift,” Pagacz said of the salon, which was formerly Ralph Paul Salon and is located in the Genesys Athletic Club, at 855 Health Park Blvd. “We have painted the salon, we put up new mirrors, new lighting fixtures, we have expanded our business hours, we’ve created a website.”

In addition to adding multiple services to the salon, Le Rouge also will have a boutique in it shortly. There, Pagacz said local vendors can sell their products to customers at Le Rouge.

“So we can have eclectic items and different items you wouldn’t get at a Rite Aid or a Target – hand made and hand crafted (items) to help our local people,” Pagacz said.

The local community has been a big focus for the new owners — not only do they want to promote local business but also they have been focusing on participating in local charities. Just a few weeks ago, Pagacz and two other stylists from the salon spent 10 hours at the Grand Blanc Relay for Life cutting and styling hair for donations. That day, they raised $6,200 for the American Cancer Society.

“We want to get out there and do as much as we can for the community, because it all comes back around,” she said. “Positive actions and positive thoughts, and you get the positive returns.”

Pagacz said she truly enjoys being a part of the Grand Blanc community.

“I really enjoy it, just because the people are a little more diverse and so you get a lot of different cultures, a lot of different personalities, a range of incomes,” Pagacz said. “One of our mottos here is we’re engaging and eclectic from head to toe, and by saying that, each and everyone one of us here are different, and we all mesh together, and I think that’s how Grand Blanc is. It’s so diverse … it never gets old.”

It’s that range of personality and style that Pagacz hopes makes her salon a comfortable place for anyone to come to.

“We have a very comfortable atmosphere, we try to create it as like a home away from home where you feel good coming here but you’re not intimidated,” Pagacz said. “We want people to come in and relax.”

While it’s been a year of hard work and long hours at the salon, Pagacz said she and Brahce wouldn’t change anything.

“I love everything about it,” she said. “My best thing would be to know that I can create an atmosphere where people want to come and work, and they enjoy it, and they feel it’s pretty and we respect them and appreciate them as our employees.”
