Scrapbooking group
GRAND BLANC — A new scrapbooking group is forming and invites scrapbookers to join them from 6 p.m.-midnight Sept. 12 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, located at the corner of Perry and Belsay Roads.
Sizzix die cuts will be available for sale, or the Sizzix die cut machine and dies can be used for a nominal fee. Cost to attend is $10 per person and proceeds benefit the church’s capital campaign.

Flint Genealogical Society meeting
BURTON — The Flint Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Burton Senior Center, 3410 S. Grand Traverse St.
Michael Madden from the Flint Public Library, Lorene Wilson from the Flint Genealogical Society and Burt Matthews, a volunteer from the Flint Public Library, will speak on what is available for research and where information is located in the library.

GRAND BLANC TWP. — The Grand Blanc High School Class of 1998 hosts its 10-year reunion at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at Genesys Conference and Banquet Center.

Goodrich Booster Bingo Night
BURTON — The Goodrich Athletic Boosters host both Sunday night bingo and Friday night bingo events each week at the Burton Bingo Palace.
Sunday night bingo starts at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. and an early birds start at 5:30 p.m. Friday night bingo begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. and an early birds start at 6:30 p.m.

FLINT — Tickets are still available for Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad’s Day out with Thomas event on Aug. 22-24.
Walk-up ticket sales are available at Crossroads Village Wednesday - Saturday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. each day. Tickets are also available at ticketweb.com and by calling 866-468-7630. Advance tickets are strongly recommended.

Club 55 bowling
GENESEE COUNTY — Club 55 bowling for adults ages 55 and up is offered Aug. 11-15 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. each day at a variety of lanes.
During the week, adults over the age of 55 can bowl for free. On Aug. 12 and 13, grandchildren can bowl for free as well. Coaches are on-site to offer assistance and tips. All lanes are smoke-free during Club 55 and no membership is required.
Club 55 is offered at B’s Bowling Center on Center Rd. in Flint, Clio Bowling Arcade on W. Vienna Rd. in Clio, Colonial Lanes on W. Pierson Rd. in Flushing, Holly Lanes on Grange Hall Rd. in Fenton, Nightingale Lanes on Davison Rd. in Burton, Richfield Bowl on Richfield Rd. in Flint, Town & Country Lanes on Miller Rd. in Flint, and Rollaway Lanes on Main Street South in Davison.

Metal Cares Bash
GENESEE TWP. — The Metal Cares Bash is 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at the 2nd Generation Ballroom, 4437 Richfield Rd.
Participants who bring in canned goods can enter the bash for $5. The event features Jeff Taylor from American Made Tattoos, along with $2 draft drinks. Mechanism of Misery will perform an all ages show.

Nature scavenger hunt
DAVISON — Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission hosts a Nauseating (Not Really!) Nature Scavenger Hunt for the Brave and Courageous 7-8 p.m. Aug. 28.
The first family to retrieve all of the items on their list in the allotted time will receive a $25 Parks and Recreation commission gift card. The event is free and open to families with members of all ages.

Crim Spirit Squad
FLINT — The Flint Children’s Museum invites family members of Crim runners to join the Crim Spirit Squad at 7 a.m. Aug. 23.
For $5, participants receive a continental breakfast, guaranteed parking and admission to the museum. Space is limited, so reservations are required. The museum sits at the three-mile marker.

Calling all model railroaders
RICHFIELD TWP. — Division 10 of the North Central Region of the National Model Railroad Association needs model railroads from Genesee, Shiawassee, Lapeer and Tuscola counties 7:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month.
