Many thanks to everyone who attended the May 4 “Beertopia” Euchre Tournament held at the Bull Ring Sports Grill and Lounge. This event was to benefit the community’s Good Times in Goodrich Festival and was very successful due to everyone’s participation and support.

Atlas Supervisor Shirley Kautman- Jones’ negative response to the petitions to detach from the Village surprises me. Doesn’t she realize these taxpayers are already residents of her township of Atlas? However, they pay taxes to the Village in addition to the taxes to the Township, for which they believe they get little or nothing.

Recently I planted a flower at the base of my dad’s gravesite, and for the first time saw his name on a plaque marker. I traced the raised letters of his name on an otherwise cold piece of metal. It kind of hit me again, he’s gone.
